Nelson's partner [a=Kate Ross] came up with the name while Nelson drew the logo: a simple two-tone globe of the world. The label's early releases were mostly produced by Nelson, his cousin [a=David Thackeray] and David's friend [a=Si Firmin] in [l=The Cellar UK]. Like other London labels from the same era such as [l=Azuli Records], the initial releases were made to look like American imports, with New York references on the labels.
